Crossroads...

First off boOoo to those of you who have not yet posted. ANd double booOoo to anyone who is reading and doesn't bother to comment! LEt's see what you all missed out on...well last Friday Sean, Mary, and I enjoyed a lovely dinner at E & O Trading. We celebrated the night with Champaign, fried calamari, sea scallops, ahi tuna, pinapple spiced cake topped with coconut sorbet, and dessert wine. Too bad the rest of you missed out on a very special occasion. We later met up with Tamika, Andrew, Mekiko (woah, i don't know how to spell her name), and the infamous "silly Japanese girl". If you all made it to Kenji's party you would know who I"m talking about - ahhh good laughs! Anywho...

Back to me...
I finally realize that no matter how hard I try, no matter how many times I switch jobs I will not survive as a cook/chef. My fragile body can not handle all the stress and heavy lifting that comes along with the position. Just when I thought I had to quit again, the Direc of Op asked if I would like to take on more responsibilities. It actually sounds like a new position and it looks like I can ditch cooking and packing altogether and just focus on menu planning, experimenting, and managing a group of people. Sounds kinda cool, and I'm highly considering the position. You'll hear more about it when I finally get some answers!

Superficial???

Alright, get ready to read!

It's been two and a half months since I started working for the grab n go station, and I feel like I've had it! "Had it" meaning QUIT. I'm done working in the kitchen! I'm tried of cooking and all the heavy lifting! I'm tired of looking at my scabby hands, peeling fingers, and crusty heels. On top of feeling disgustingly tired everyday I don't want to ruin my health! Yes, that's exactly how I've been feeling for the past month.

So I've been looking into other alternatives. I've been thinking about event planning/coordinating, especially specializing in weddings. It's not a bad career move, it's still somewhat related to my field of interest, just minus the cheap pay and the agony I go thru every morning when I wake up before I can hear the birds chirpping.
I'm not afraid to admit it anymore, but I want to make GOOD MONEY!

I found that you can get certified in wedding planning, but I'm not taking that route. I want to gain some experience before I try to get myself enrolled in school or whatever it is I need to do in order to get certified. Speaking of getting certified, did everyone get their freaking certificates yet? Mine just came in the mail last weekend. Okay back to my point. So if you know of anyone who is in need of an affordable planner/coordinator for their event, wedding, etc, then call me up!

Right now I'm pretty annoyed at the director at work. As I was rolling pizza dough (the 30 min I must spend everyday now to assist the pizza station becuz employees complain about the long wait for lunch) the director came up to me and asked if could listen while I roll. Of course I could listen while I roll, I'm a super multi-tasker! He then ask me if I am interested in taking on more of a leadership role. I said I'm interested. He then told me that I would be in charge of coming up with a new menu once a month for all the hot entree and sides, and if I remember correctly I think I agreed to the cold stuff too. Anyways, I will also be doing some data entry stuff, excel stuff, and whatever other stuff that comes along with planning. WHAT THE HELL DID I JUST GET MYSELF INTO?????
An hour later, I replayed the conversation in my head and I became very upset. If I am to take on "more of a leadership role" shouldn't I also get rewarded with a pay increase???? Of course he's not going to bring it up so now "I need to be a man" and step up to the plate and ask to re-negotiate my pay.

SEriously speaking, I don't know how I am going to handle all the researching, planning, and computer stuff ontop of all the cooking and packing I already do.

Am I screwed???
Crap!
